About: Welcome

Just a short drive from the San Francisco Bay Area is Lone Tree Farm where you will find beautiful, irrigated pasture nestled alongside the gleaming Tuolumne River. From the bluff above you'll view over 80 acres of green pasture paradise and our lovely cross-country course. We also have a grass stadium arena, all weather dressage court, covered arena, and a 60 foot round pen.

In addition to our green pastures, we have stalls in the barn and large grassy paddocks. Our horse campsites are popular with guests. Stroll down to our lagoon's dock or visit our river beach...a favorite spot after riding in the summertime! Not into camping? Ask about availability of one of our two lovely guest rooms.

About: Story

connie liam.jpg

Lone Tree Farm exists today because of the vision, hard work and perseverance of Lone Tree's Founder, Connie Arthur. Connie began her horse training operation of Lone Tree Farm in nearby Oakdale, CA in 1977.

When the existing Tuolumne riverfront property became available in 1994, she pulled together her resources and purchased the land. With nothing there except the remains of an old wholesale nursery, Connie started from scratch to engineer and build bit by bit what stands at Lone Tree Farm today, including the barn, pastures and an amazing cross country jump course.

She has operated for over 40 years as a well established 3-day Eventing coach and Trainer, while also founding a highly successful breeding program for Irish Draft Sport horses. Formerly standing at stud was Bridon Beale Street (aka "Liam") a registered Irish Draught Stallion who we lost in December of 2018. He is terribly missed, though he left behind some wonderful offspring, many of which are some of our favorite horses at Lone Tree Farm today.

Wishing to slow down a bit in recent years, Connie sold the property to Pierre Paquelier and Erin Gates, but remains engaged in the business still riding and training as well as putting on clinics and taking students to shows. Visit the Connie Arthur Training page for more details.
