LESSONS & COACHING

CONNIE ARTHUR has been eventing, training and teaching in Central California for almost 40 years.  She has been awarded LEVEL II CERTIFICATION through the USEA's ICP Program and is a National Examiner for the US Pony Clubs. Connie has trained and shown through the international levels in Dressage, and was a professional member of the Los Altos Hounds for over three decades.

She currently offers lessons and enjoys coaching her students at shows.

CROSS-COUNTRY SCHOOLING

Lone Tree Farm is a three-day eventing facility offering a premier cross country course with over 125 jumps ranging in difficulty from Elementary through Preliminary levels complete with ditches, up/down banks, and large water feature. Our farm is set on a breathtaking river basin which ensures great footing, wet or dry making us particularly suitable for late Winter and early Spring schooling!

 

Trainers, bring your students out to school. Come for the day, or stay overnight in our campground, or guestrooms (when available). Cross-country fees for 2023 are $50 per horse/rider combo. Ask about our season pass. Trainer must have current liability insurance on file with Lone Tree. Special rates for Pony Clubs!

HUNTER PACE, DERBY & SCHOOLING SHOW

Visit our calendar to see the exciting events we have planned for this year! Our low-key hunter paces are always a hit with schooling offered on our flagged courses the day before. Come polish your cross country skills with Connie Arthur! Lone Tree Farm has about 125+ x-co jumps, Pre-Elementary through Intermediate. Great footing wet or dry! 3 - 6 riders per group. Groups divided by ability. Unmounted activities and educational opportunities will be part of the weekend.

 

Lone Tree Schooling Fees included. One day option available. Snacks and drinks provided. Bring your own food. Camping $10 per night. (Hot showers available!)

LONE TREE FARM ADULT CAMP

September 12th-15th, 2024 (Three or four day option)

Lone Tree Farm Adult Camp has been running annually for decades! A tradition among friends, new and old, Adult Camp never disappoints! This is a bring your horse event with onsite camping, catered food, hot showers, massage and an incredible river-side setting. Another event that welcomes the first time cross country and seasoned veterans alike. If you've ever wanted to try cross country but didn't know where to start, this no pressure but supportive environment is the perfect place to make sure you start off right! Dressage, grid work, and working equitation are also a part of camp depending on rider preference. Unmounted activities include hands-on demos, lectures from various equine professionals, Pilates, Yoga, crafts, games and wine tasting! Ask about our options for non-riders. Always super fun, and typically sold out - don't miss it!

We are proud to welcome Buster McLaury annually to Lone Tree Farm. His quiet, low pressure approach creates an excellent learning environment horses and students alike. All disciplines of riding welcome!

COW WORKING

For riders wanting to refine their horse through working with cattle. Excellent opportunity for introducing your horse to cattle. Those with more experience will appreciate Buster's focus on how to read cattle and to position for accurate influence with as little stress as possible on the horses, cattle and riders. Watch your horse go from fear to curiosity to confidence!  Cattle fee paid at clinic.

FOUNDATION HORSEMANSHIP

Having made his living cowboying on and managing big outfits all his life, Buster has started thousands of colts under saddle and worked with hundreds of thousands of cattle. Buster met and was heavily influenced by Ray Hunt early on, which shines through in his kind, quiet approach to helping horses. The Foundation class is open to all levels of horses and riders, including horses not started yet under saddle.

CAMPING & CAMP ACTIVITIES

Popular with many of our guests, is our overnight horse camp accommodations down by the river area. You'll have access to the river beach and the dock on our private lagoon. By the way, we hear the fishing is good!

Pipe pens start at $20 per night. Premium Pens (12 x 16) $30 per night. Camping $10 per person per night. Tents and RV's welcome (no hookups). Sorry no campfires!  Don't want to camp outside, check out our guest rooms.
