CONNIE ARTHUR has
been eventing, training and teaching in Central California for over 30 years. She
was recently awarded LEVEL II CERTIFICATION through the USEA's Instructors' Certification
Program! Sue Hershey, co-chair of USEA's ICP stated in her congratulatory letter to
Connie: "The ICP commends you for your very good performance at the ICP
Assessment ....Connie, you are clearly an experienced horsewoman with a good eye....Your
cross-country lesson in particular demonstrated this experience and competence."
She has ridden with such notable riders and trainers as Charles deKunffy, Eike Von
Veltheim, Denny Emerson, Ginny Leng, Jimmy Wofford, Don Sachey, Klaus Bergener, Torrance
Watkins, Loris Henry, George Morris and many others.
Connie has raised and trained her own event horses through Preliminary.
She has raised and trained her own dressage horses through Intermediare. |
Connie also enjoys other horse activities,
include steeplechasing, foxhunting (she is a professional member of the Los Altos Hounds),
cattle sorting, trail trials, costume kur and pas de deux. She is also a second
degree black belt in Aikido, the "art of Peace."

DYAN SOUTHERN started
her love of horses as a child, riding ponies. She began instruction with Connie
Arthur at Lone Tree Farm in Oakdale around 1988. She has pursued a breeding and
training business on her own for the last several years, specializing in draft crosses,
and now we are pleased to have Dyan as our barn manager. She has also been teaching
for several years, and Lone Tree Farm is thrilled to introduce her as our new instructor
for children and beginning-level riders. Stop by and visit Dyan or watch a
